March lunch menu and upcoming dates!

The Education Support Professional of the Month at Discovery for February is Jen Jensen! For a long time, Mrs. Jensen has quietly gone about her day at Discovery, helping students learn and grow as an instructional para. She is always positive, kind, and willing to go above and beyond to help the school. She is a leader at our school, and we appreciate everything she does for the Discovery community! Congratulations, Mrs. Jensen!

Our February shoutout for Teacher of the Month goes to Nancy Ulsh! She is a magical teacher. She is always coming up with innovative ways to help her students reach just a little higher than they thought they could. She is a data guru and is constantly analyzing ways she and the 2nd-grade team can help ALL students learn at high levels. Her students love her too! Great job Mrs. Ulsh!

Starting in March we will no longer be sending home paper copies of the lunch menu. It will be posted on our website, Facebook page and on the PTA's Facebook page and GroupMe.
Congratulations to the Teacher of the Month at Discovery - Mrs. Low! If you have met Mrs. Low, you will remember it. She is so fun, super competitive, and always looking to make her students smile. Whether it's dominating a K-Pop Demon Hunter lip sync battle versus the principal, or getting her kids to reach academic levels they never knew they could attain, Mrs. Low gives it 110%, and we are lucky to have her at Discovery!

Our Education Support Professional of the month in January is none other than Britni Roberts, our secretary extraordinaire! Britni has been the face of Discovery Elementary going on 3 years now, and is one of a kind. She is the most selfless, dedicated, and caring person. When she's not coming up with fun and crazy ideas to help the staff feel appreciated, she's greeting everyone with a smile and making them feel welcome at Discovery. Thanks for all you do, Britni!

Great news! Our Dolphins rocked the Middle of Year Acadience Reading tests. We hit an ALL-TIME high with 64% of our students ABOVE benchmark and almost 83% at benchmark or better.

We'd like to recognize Mindy Anderson as the Education Support Professional of the Month at Discovery Elementary! For many years, Mindy has quietly and diligently gone about her business at Discovery, taking care of kids. She has a knack for connecting with students, and her calm and steady presence makes students feel safe here at school. She has a very tough job and never complains. She truly is an unsung hero at Discovery, and we are so lucky to have her here!

Big shout out to Discovery's Teacher of the Month for December- Mrs. Morrey! Not only is she a fantastic 2nd-grade teacher, district, and school leader, Mrs. Morrey is quite the musician! She injects her love of music in her lessons and everything she does here at the school. Her kids love her, and we couldn't be more grateful that she's a Discovery Dolphin.

Here is our lunch menu for December. Paper menus will go home after the break. Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to Mrs. Baker- Our Teacher of the Month for November! Mrs. Baker is flat-out an incredible teacher. She has so many tools in her belt to help students learn and always makes learning fun. Not only do her own students love her and know that she cares for them, but she is often seen checking in with former students to see how they are doing, reminding them of lessons she taught them, or just letting them know she still cares. Way to go, Mrs. Baker!

Congratulations to our Education Support Professional for the month of November - Rebecca Birch! Rebecca is an invaluable member of our kitchen staff. She's always looking out for others, goes out of her way to talk to and get to know kids, and is willing to help in any way she can in the cafeteria. We're so glad she's a Dolphin! Thank you, Mrs. Birch!

Congratulations to our Education Support Professional of the month- Emily Hartman! Mrs. Hartman is an incredibly talented aide at our school who can do it all! She specializes in working with our kindergarteners, and literally HUNDREDS of our students and families have had the transition to kindergarten be made easier over many years because of Mrs. Hartman. The kids love her, and our teachers couldn't do their jobs without her. She is an absolute cornerstone of our Dolphin team. Thanks, Mrs. Hartman!

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Month- Ms. Handley! Anyone who knows Ms. Handley, knows she is incredibly dedicated to her students and the staff at Discovery. She is innovative, always seeking professional growth, and makes relationships with students and having fun a centerpiece to her job. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our 5th-grade team!
